Our Heritage

A cornerstone of Carrier Mills since its founding

Blazing Star Lodge #458, Ancient Free & Accepted Masons, carries forward a tradition that stretches back through centuries of fraternal service. In the quiet pride of Carrier Mills, our lodge has long been more than a meeting hall — it is a living institution.

Our members are men of standing in their community: farmers, veterans, shopkeepers, and families who believe that the virtues of integrity, charity, and brotherhood remain as vital today as they were when our founders laid the cornerstones of lodges across this land.

Our Principles

Built on principles that endure

The three great lights of our fraternity — virtue, brotherly love, and truth — guide every action we take.

Virtue

A commitment to moral excellence in every aspect of life. Our members strive to live with honor, to act with fairness, and to set an example of character for those around them.

Brotherly Love

A genuine care for one another that transcends rank, wealth, and background. In our lodge, every man is treated with dignity, and no one stands alone.

Truth

A relentless pursuit of knowledge and honesty. We seek to understand the world more deeply, to speak with clarity, and to live without pretense or guile.

Community Service

Serving Carrier Mills with purpose and dedication

Our lodge is woven into the fabric of this community. From charitable giving to supporting local institutions, we believe that a lodge's true measure lies in what it gives back.

Charitable contributions to local families and organizations throughout southern Illinois
Youth mentorship and educational support for the next generation of leaders
